Susan McGalla is a successful American entrepreneur. McGalla founded P3 Executive Consultung, LLC. She offers executive advice to customers, on operational efficiencies, talent management, branding, marketing and other financial issues. Susan McGalla is renowned for her official position at American Outfitters, and the CEO of Wet Seal Inc.
McGalla was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, in 1964. She was raised together with her two brothers, by her parents. Her father, who was tough on her, worked as a football coach at a local club. This enabled her to be a resilient woman. Her parents encouraged her to be a hardworking and vigilant lady. She had to be confident in presenting her ideas to people. Her parents helped her to understand that her gender was not a hindrance.
Susan McGalla is comfortable when she is working with men and women. She has excelled as a leader and a business woman because she is not intimidated by anyone. Her confidence was a key factor in her educational success. McGalla graduated with a BA in Business and Marketing from Mount Union College. Susan is currently employed as an advisory board member at the institution.
Susan McGalla later joined Joseph Horne Company, where she started her career. In 1994, Susan was offered a position at American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. She occupied a position at the Department of Divisional Merchandise Buyer, that dealt with women clothing. Her hard work and determination enabled her to acquire managerial positions at the company. Susan continued to get promotions at the organization. The elevations enabled her to be the Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO), and President of the firm. At these positions, McGalla oversaw the establishment of the 77kids and the Aerie brands.
McGalla worked at Amerian Eagle Outfitters until 2009, when she decided to serve as a private consultant for financial investment and retail firms. In the last quarter of 2009, Susan was appointed to be a member of HFF Inc. board of directors. In 2011, Wet Seal, Inc. appointed her to succeed Ed Thomas as the CEO. McGalla continued to display her determination, as she pioneered many successful changes at the organization.
McGalla established P3 Executives in January 2013. The organization provided advice to financial firms and Wall Street Community. She utilized investment fund managers, sell-side and buy-side analysts to deliver the services. Susan provided comprehensive consultancy projects to customers in the retail industry. She later joined The Pittsburgh Steelers, LLC to be the Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development.
