Dr. David Samadi, a man known for his medical and surgical advancements in the fight against cancer, has endured a journey that’s nothing short of amazing. Born in Iran, yet raised in Persia, David would turn his hardships into success, as he would go from a child briefly staying in various countries, to a man revolutionizing the process of detecting, diagnosing and curing men who have prostate cancer.
Growing up, David knew he wanted to pursue a career in the medical field helping of others.
Although he was raised in Persia, that would be short lived, as David and his brother would be forced to move to Belgium in 1979, following the Iranian Revolution. In Belgium, and at the age of 15, David and his brother would experience life without their parents; however this major setback would not deter David from achieving goals.
David would continue his education in Belgium and London, before heading to the United States where he would attend Stony Brook University in New York. At Stony Brook University, David would earn a degree in biochemistry, followed by obtaining his M.D. from S.U.N.Y, Stony Brook School of Medicine, Stony Brook. Later on between 1996 to 2000, Dr. Samadi would become even more accomplished in his medical training, as he would complete graduate programs from Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine with specialties in urology, proctology and oncology.
After Dr. Samadi’s distinguished collegiate tenure, his passion of caring for others is continuously displayed throughout his career, performing over 7,000 prostate surgeries using his own trademark technique called S.M.A.R.T(Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Treatment);this specialized method has cured over 90% of his patients.
Dr. Samadi’s career success has granted him the well deserved title of a medical expert; and he does just that, as the 5 year host for the television show, “Sunday Housecall”, which features medical advice. Dr. Samadi also provides his expert advice through his website and radio talk shows.
When asked about how he got started and what inspired him to start his practice, Dr. Samadi stated how he “always wanted to be a doctor who helped people. After I specialized in prostate treatments, I became fascinated with the new developments in robotic surgeries.”
When asked about what he thinks makes him so successful, Dr. Samadi replied, “I like to stick to a schedule..Establishing a routine makes me efficient..I treat my staff like family…When you surround yourself with good people, you can’t help but be successful.”
Even with the accomplishments, Dr. Samadi is excited about the future, stating that, “I hope to continue providing men with a comprehensive center that improves their overall health, including their prostate, colon, heart, and other key male functions. It excites me that we are on the edge of great technological advancements in the healthcare industry.”
