Shiva Gopal Vasishta has been able to help his patients with new technology based on prospects that stem-cell transplants can fight multiple sclerosis. Stem cells could result to reduction of MS symptoms in a treatment known as immunosuppressive therapy and autologous hematopoietic cell transplants. If administered for about five years, the treatment, as per the research, could completely eradicate the symptoms. This would yield way better results than the MS drug that is currently being used as the main treatment. However, more studies have been done, but the one with profound success so far is the HALT-MS, which used patients between the age of 26 and 52, who were continuously getting worse with MS drugs. However, with administration of HCT/ HDIT, more than 70% of the patients improved, proving that it could be used as an alternative to those not responding to treatment.
